CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga – Twenty applicants were hired on the spot during the jobs fair conducted by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) and the provincial Public Employment Service Office (PESO) participated by eight employment agencies.
Lourdes Canseco of DOLE provincial office here said 18 were hired for overseas employment and two for local jobs. There were 128 registered applicants with 106 qualified during the 2-day jobs fair held at Capitol grounds.
Canseco said 3,204 job vacancies were solicited through five overseas employment agencies and 1,250 for local employment by three local agencies.
The DOLE and PESO offices including those in the municipalities have been partnering in the conduct of regular jobs fair inviting employment agencies particularly during festivals, making job hunting for job convenient and cost-saving. /(PIA CAR)
