BAGUIO CITY – Some forty-four local employers and overseas employment agencies participate in the Baguio Charter Day jobs fair scheduled on September 24, 2016, at the Baguio Convention Center.
Jose Atanacio, Executive Assistant IV of the City Mayor’s Office and concurrent Public Employment Services Office (PESO) Manager, said the participating employers include 28 local companies and 16 overseas employment agencies that will offer the jobs to qualified applicants mainly from the city’s 128 barangays.
He said the companies are given until September 17, 2016, to complete their documentary requirements including a list of available vacancies for the PESO to properly document the jobs fair.
The local companies taking part in the job fair include Ace Hardware, Baguio Country Club, The Manor at Camp John Hay, Camp John Hay Management Corporation, Convergys, FC Laranang Group of Companies, International Hotel Groups (IHG), Isonn Marketing, Noble Trends Unbound, Sitel Philippines Corporation, MOOG Controls Corporation, SM Supermarket (Supervalue), Sunshine Supermarket, Sutherland Global Services, Tiong San Harrison, Toyota, Tree Top Adventure, Texas Instrument, HEDCOR (Aboitiz), On Semiconductor, ABC 360, Metrobank, PDEA-CAR, Jett Water Heater Co., City Light Hotel, Jollibee, Technodream Web Works and Gardenia Bakeries Philippines, Inc..
The participating overseas companies include 1st Northern International Placement, Inc., Amenrie Overseas Employment Agency, Inc., D.A. Rodrigo, E-GMP International Corporation, Magsaysay Maritime Corporation, MSL Stars Agency, September Stars Agency, Starborne International Promotion and Manpower Corp., YHMD Manpower, Keys Placement Agency, IPAMS, God’s Will International Placement Agency, Placewell International Services Corporation, FAASI International Placement Agency, Health Carousel Philippines, Inc. and ASC Global Recruitment.
Aside from the possibility of being hired on the spot by prospective employers, job applicants will also be offered free manicure and pedicure, haircut, massage, among other basic services by participating individuals and groups.
Further, PLDT is offering free international calls to the job seekers wanting to contact their family members and relatives abroad.
The Charter Day jobs fair is organized in cooperation with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA), Civil Service Commission (CSC), the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO), the Department of Public works and Highways – Baguio City District Engineering Office (DPWH-BCDEO), the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Philippine Long Distance Company, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), DPWH-CAR, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration and the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA)./By Dexter A.
