LIFE’S INSPIRATIONS: “… `Therefore, everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is… wise… Those who hear these words of mine and do not obey them… are fools’…” (Jesus, our God and Savior, in Matthew 7:24-27, the Holy Bible).

4TH VISAYAN COMMEMORATION OF YOLANDA INSUFFICIENT: Indeed, I can only agree with the declaration that there should be no classes and no work in Tacloban City, as ordered by Mayor Cristina Gonzales Romualdez last November 08, 2017, to commemorate the death of thousands and the destruction of properties worth billions of pesos caused by Typhoon Yolanda in the Visayas four years ago.
But, was it a sufficient commemoration of the Yolanda tragedy that children did not go to their classes and workingmen did not report for work on that day? With due respect, it seemed this was not enough. I believe Mayor Romualdez and the other local chief executives in the Visayan region should have exerted more effort in somehow giving a more relevant explanation about why there are deadly and destructive rains, floods, and winds.
Side-by-side with an information drive on the scientific bases of rains, floods, and winds, there should have been a parallel information drive that notified the victims that even in olden times, there was already a Biblical warning about their coming, which would kill many and destroy valuable assets everywhere. Too, there should have been an effort to explain how our countrymen can stand against these calamities, based on the Bible.

THE WIFE AND THE FOOL WHEN RAINS, FLOODS, AND WINDS COME: The disclosure of these kinds of information coming from the Bible about rains, floods, and winds has become truly important, for these calamities are happening not only in the Philippines now but even in many other countries. In fact, even as our brothers and sisters from the Visayas region were commemorating Yolanda, many places in Cagayan Valley, Isabela, and in other areas in Region 2, were deeply submerged in floods.
People who have faith in Jesus must understand that He said, in Matthew 7:24-27 of the Bible, that rains, floods, and winds were certain to come, and there would only be two people who will face them—the wise and the fool. The wise are those who will not perish from these natural tragedies, but the fools are those who will not only crash, but will ultimately be totally destroyed.
Who are the wise who will not be prejudiced by the rains, floods, and rains, as Jesus assured? They are those who listen to His Word and obey them. And who are the fools who will crash down and be destroyed fully? They are those who listen to Jesus but who do not obey Him. If we look at the world right now, we will see clearly that there are more people who are fools that there are wise.

DO YOU WANT TO EVADE THE ILL EFFECTS OF NATURAL CALAMITIES? For those who want to avoid certain damage or death from the coming rains, floods, and winds, there is only one thing they are to do, then. They need to sincerely listen to, and carefully obey, the Word of Jesus. Pretentious obedience will no longer save anyone, but will in fact lead to perdition in the long run.
How can one sincerely listen to, and carefully obey, the Word of God? We can find this from Joshua 1:8 of the Bible: “… Do not forget to read the Book of the Law daily, and meditate on it day and night, and carefully obey everything that is written in it…” If we do these things—read, meditate, and obey—the promises of God on success and prosperity and victory will surely come.
If the truth be told, sincere compliance with Joshua 1:8 will save everyone not only from natural calamities, but from the troubles of everyday life as well, and from the sufferings brought about by the Great Tribulation, and in assuring one’s safety in Paradise in eternal life. Those who are reading this, I implore you to try these steps, and see the wonderful changes in your lives!
