Aliping Plays Host to Lucky Foreign Visitors

BAGUIO CITY – Rep. Nicasio M. Aliping Jr. and Mrs. Lilian Aliping will play host to the Lucky Foreign Visitors 2015 which will be chosen this coming Dec. 10, organizers of the yearly Silahis ng Pasko said.

Rep. Aliping said that this is his family’s way of promoting tourism inasmuch as Baguio City is a tourism mecca north of Manila and the gateway to the rest of the Cordillera region.

“I am very happy to be one of the first to welcome our lucky foreign visitors to the cool climate of Baguio,” Aliping said.

Four foreigners will be chosen by the National Correspondents Club of Baguio and the City Social Welfare and Development Office to be given a four-day red carpet treatment including hotel accommodation, free tour of the city and a special send off with gifts and pabaon.

They will be given a tour of the Philippine Military Academy on the morning of December 12 and then a city tour in the afternoon which will take the foreigners to iconic tourist spots of the city like the Baguio Museum, the botanical Garden, the Mansion, Mines View Park, and horseback riding at Wright Park.

On Dec. 13, Sunday, will feature religious activities and will start with a visit to the NCCB Shrine of the Brown Madonna along Asin Road and after a brief visit to the BenCab Museum and Ifugao Woodcarving Villages.

In the afternoon they will lead a motorcade down Session Road and be treated as special guests of the Baguio City National High School Singing and Dancing Christmas Tree, then a foot tour of the Baguio City Market, Burnham Park.

On Dec. 14, the foreign visitors will be given a special send off to their destination.

Aliping stressed the need for city officials to support and promote searches like this in order to boost the tourism industry of the city noting that tourism is one of the forces which drives the local economy./Carl C. Taawan
