Arenas: PNoy must act decisively on sea row

LIFE’S INSPIRATIONS: “…But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law…” (Galatians 5:22-23, the Holy Bible).

HRET CONFIRMS PANOTES CONGRESSIONAL WIN: I wish to congratulate Rep. Elmer E. Panotes of the second congressional district of Camarines Norte and, of course, his lawyer who is my sister, Atty. Marisa Mauricio Panotes (wife of Daet, Camarines Norte Councilor Concon Panotes, the congressman’s nephew), for winning the second electoral protest that was filed against him in connection with the May 13, 2013 elections.
The House of Representatives Electoral Tribunal (HRET) has just thrown out the second electoral protest against Congressman Panotes, confirming his overwhelming victory over his rival, a former high finance official of government.

PANOTES SEALS WIN WITH INCREASED LEAD OVER RIVAL: The HRET found, after a manual counting of the votes arising from the protest, that Panotes even increased his lead over the protestant, from 26,839 votes to 26,852 votes. The protestant could not believe the very big difference between the votes she got and the votes counted in favor of Panotes, and so she filed a protest and asked for a recount.
The tribunal declared however that the protestant, who likewise miserably lost to Panotes in an earlier election, failed to prove that the results of Rep. Panotes was the result of cheating or fraud. Well, congratulations, Rep. Panotes! The moral of this story here is that, if you lose, better accept it, for if you file a protest, your opponent might even increase his lead!

PNOY MUST ACT DECISIVELY ON SEA ROW: ARENAS: Former Pangasinan Rep. Rachel Baby Arenas is asking the Aquino government to act more decisively to assert the right of the Philippines over the islands at the West Philippine Sea which have been occupied and are now being used for military purposes by China.
In an interview Thursday, March 19, 2015, at the DZEC 1062 kHz 6 a.m. daily program “Tambalang Batas at Somintac”, Arenas said it is not right for the government to just simply allow China to put up structures in the area the size of which now approximates a big mall, especially at this point that there is already a pending protest at an international tribunal.
Arenas, who is seeking to become a senator in the 2016 elections under the banner of the United Nationalist Alliance of Vice President Jejomar Binay, however cautioned against any rash action as this may ignite a bloody confrontation between the two countries.

PNOY DROP IN RATINGS MEANS DECREASED PEOPLE SUPPORT: Now that President Aquino’s trust, popularity, and performance ratings have plummeted once more, we should expect more maneuvers by those wanting to kick him out from office as soon as possible to step up their criticisms against Aquino.
As it were, Aquino’s critics are now smelling “blood” with the drop in Aquino’s ratings, since it is clear that criticisms are now taking a toll on his popularity, and have the effect of diminishing the support of the people for him. Unless Aquino does something miraculous, like saying sorry for the Mamasapano incident, he will never be able to regain the lost goodwill of our countrymen.
