ASEAN 2017 Kiosk now at SM City Baguio

BAGUIO CITY – The Philippine Information Agency, in partnership with the Presidential Communications Operations Office, formally launched the ASEAN 2017 Kiosk at SM City Baguio last February 4.

The Kiosk is part of the information activities of PIA in promoting ASEAN(Association of South East Asian nations) and the Philippines’ hosting of the ASEAN Summit this year that coincides with the 50th anniversary of the association of 10 – member nations.

It showcases AVPs (Audio – Visual Presentation) about ASEAN 2017 and other related information materials, as well as IEC (Information, Education Materials) from various regional line agencies, such as emergency/disaster preparedness tips from the Office of Civil Defense and health advocacies of the Department of Health, among others. Also available at the Kiosk is President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s “Mula Sa Masa, Para Sa Masa” tabloid.

PIA Deputy – Director General Angelo Villar, in his message during the ASEAN Kiosk launching, expressed gratitude to SM City Baguio management for the partnership as well as the city government of Baguio represented by Mayor Mauricio Domogan and Congressman Mark Go for their continuing support to such government initiative.

Villar also mentioned that aside from the kiosk, PIA will also conduct multi – sectoral for a and information caravans, produce n and distribute IEC materials in efforts to help bring the government under President Duterte closer to the people down to the grassroots.

PCOO Assistant Secretary Marie Banaag announced that ASEAN Kiosks are being established in as many venues as such malls, seaports and airports so that important information about ASEAN and government programs and services will reach more citizens as much as possible.

One highlight of the Kiosk launch was a photo exhibit “Celebrating ASEAN: Southeast Asian Art and Culture” loaned out by the National Commission for the Culture and the Arts for said event.

The ASEAN kiosk launch culminated the ASEAN-PCOO Roadshow in Baguio City.
