BAGUIO CITY – The city government last week began preparations for the 10th Baguio Day celebration on Sept. 1.
Councilor Elmer Datuin and city administrator Carlos Canilao, co-chair of the celebration executive committee convened last June 17 the members of the committee from the various government and non-government organizations to lay down ground preparations for the event.
Datuin said they look forward to a more meaningful celebration with the usual events dealing on history, culture and arts, sports, health services and others.
Mayor Mauricio Domogan early this month formed the executive committee which he heads with the following as members: city accountant, city budget officer, city treasure, city engineer, city building official, city general services officer, city schools division superintendent, Baguio City National High School principal, Pines City National High School principal, city mayor’s office executive assistant, Public Employment Services Office (PESO) manager, Baguio congressman, Association of Barangay Councils (ABC) president;
Baguio City Tourism Council chairman, city environment and parks management officer, city health officer, city sports development officer, Baguio City Police Office city director, city sports development officer, and city public information officer, lawyer Moises Cating and Glenn Gaerlan.
As this developed, Canilao who chairs the 107th Baguio Day pageant announced that the city is looking for organizers to run this year’s beauty contest.
Interested organizers may submit bid proposals until July 1 at the Office for Administration.
