BAGUIO CITY – Mayor Mauricio Domogan is encouraging the public to focus on their health thru proper nutrition, diet, exercise and to avoid harmful vices like smoking, drinking alcoholic drinks and doing illegal drugs.
He made this assertion in Monday’s launching of the 43rd Nutrition Month Celebration during the flag-raising ceremonies at City Hall with the theme, “Healthy Diet Gawing Habit For Life!”
Domogan and Congressman Mark Go led other officials in unfurling the streamer at the City Hall grounds containing the event’s list of activities including seminars on this year’s theme; information campaign on healthy dieting and proper nutrition; and many more.
Councilor Elaine Sembrano, chair of the local legislature’s committee on health, hoped that the celebration is not only observed in July but all-year-round.
“A healthy family is the foundation of a healthy, productive and responsible community,” Sembrano stressed as she invited the public to participate in the month-long activities.
This was seconded by Health Services Office head Rowena Galpo whose department is spearheading the city’s Nutrition Month celebration aimed at highlighting the importance of nutrition and reminding the public to look into their dietary routine.
The launching’s main program was held at the Baguio City National High School auditorium after the City Hall flag-raising rites.-gaby keith
