Barangay officials and residents urged to be vigilant

BAGUIO CITY – The war in Marawi is a nationwide as well as international concern which has alerted the city with threat of terrorism.

In his weekly forum, mayor Mauricio Domogan disclosed that he has recently spoken to the Muslim community to convince cooperation for any suspicious individuals trying to penetrate the city of Baguio.

He said the Muslim community should report to the Baguio City Police Office immediately for any terrorists who may linger in the city.

Domogan stressed the Muslim community to be active and must help in the fight against terrorism in the community.

Moreover, Baguio City Police director senior supt. Ramil Saculles encouraged all barangay officials and residents of Baguio to be vigilant in what is happening in their surroundings.

“Give the necessary information for any suspicious individual in your barangay to the BCPO for their further validation,” said Saculles.

We only have 700 personnel who are on 14 hour duty serving thousands of residents so as to ensure the peace and order in Baguio and we need your (barangay officials) help, added Saculles.

On the other hand, the city sought the Philippine National Police for more additional manpower for the BCPO to strengthen the safety and security in the city which will provide precautionary measures to keep the city safe from any possible entry of terrorist attack.

Meanwhile, the city recently gave P300,000 financial aid to the people of Marawi City, Mindanao. /Jho Arranz
