BAGUIO CITY – The Baguio City Police Office will double its forces this month for the staging of the 62nd Mines Safety and Environment Week and the 66th Fil-Am Invitational Golf Tournament in this mountain resort.
In anticipation on the influx of both domestic and foreign tourists, the BCPO will deploy its personnel to insure a smoother flow of traffic and as well as to ensure the peace and order.
Accordingly, the BCPO will adopt the previous traffic scheme where traffic control points will be set-up to maintain the traffic in the city’s outer ring. However, they are still working out for some adjustment so as not to encounter the same problem experienced by the motorists last Christmas season.
Mayor Mauricio Domogan has directed the Transportation and Traffic Management Committee (TTMC) to come up with a workable scheme as well as other alternative to ease the problem on traffic in this mountain resort./Jho Arranz
