Bontoc SB Creates Persons with Disabilities Affairs Office

BONTOC, Mountain Province – The Sangguniang Bayan here recently enactment an ordinance creating a municipal Persons with Disabilities Affairs Office(PDAO).
It is provided in the ordinance that the local chief executive, through the proper orders and or issuances, shall appoint a person with disability who shall manage and oversee the operation of the created office.
The differently-abled persons in this municipality headed by Manuel Sumeg-ang had earlier requested the SB to facilitate the creation of a PDAO to ensure the implementation of programs and services for said sector.
The PDAO is mandated to carry out the functions as enumerated under Republic Act No. 10070 as well as other laws involving PWDs with the endpoint of empowering them as well as enhancing their potentials./JDP/JBS-PIA CAR, Mt. Province
