BAGUIO CITY – The city government here recognized the cleanest, orderly and most beautiful section I the city market last Jan 6 at the Baguio Market Vendors Alliance Consolidated Inc. BAMARVA building.
There were 13 participating sections in the search for the cleanest, orderly and most beautiful section in the city market was participated. The sections include two0-storey market building and market supt. building, sari-sari proper, vegetable proper, tobacco, chicken, rice, flower, block 3, block 4, hangar first floor, ritos alley, meat and fish section/carinderia building and shoes section.
The participating sections were judged based on the cleanliness (absence of trash, litter and other materials in the surroundings, and maintenance of cleanliness, absence of smell); orderliness (compliance with the rules on extension and uniformity of stalls, orderliness and cooperation with the section as a whole); and beauty (extra ordinary effort of stallholders to liven up the section, appropriateness and quality of decorations plus X factor).
Winning the said search were Vegetable Proper-1st place, Sari-Sari-2nd place, and the Rice Section-3rd place. They received cash incentives amounting to P5,000, P3,000 and P2,000, respectively.
The search aims to promote active participation of all vendors in Baguio City market in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in the market, and to enhance and develop our city market so as to attract more buyers as well as visitors and tourists./Jho Arranz
