BAGUIO CITY – Effective September 5, the city’s business one-stop shop (BOSS) will operate all year long at the city treasurer’s office at City Hall.
Mayor Mauricio Domogan last week ordered the activation of the BOSS on a year-round basis pursuant to the memoranda issued by Dept. of Interior and Local Government Cordillera (DILG-CAR) regional director Marlo Iringan and DILG Secretary Ismael Sueno.
Iringan directed the establishment and year-round operation of the BOSS as a way “to ensure provision of fast-efficient and quality service to the community” pursuant to Republic Act 9485 or the “Anti-Red Tape Act 2007.”
Sueno in a memorandum dated August 5, 2016 directed the local government units’ compliance with the directives of President Rodrigo Duterte for all frontline agencies to crack down on fixers, establish BOSS, stop red tape and to stop making people queue.
In his letter to Sueno, the mayor said personnel from concerned offices like the offices of the city treasurer, city health, city planning and development, city buildings and architecture, city environment and parks management, licensing division and the city fire department will be on hand at the BOSS to process applications for business licenses.
The mayor has also requested representatives from the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), the Social Security System Cordillera (SSS-CAR) and the Pag-IBIG Baguio at the BOSS to facilitate requirements for the permits.
