BAGUIO CITY – The city government formally launched its celebration of Employees’ Week in Monday’s flag-raising rites at City Hall headed by Vice-Mayor Edison Bilog.
LGU-Baguio Employees Association Incorporated (LGU-BEAI) president Marieta Alvarez said the event said the annual event is in pursuance of Proclamation No. 1130, series of 1997, “Declaring the First Week of December of Every Year as National Government Employees’ Week”.
She said the slated activities approved by Mayor Mauricio Domogan include an information and education campaign on health and wellness, health care and Red Cross programs at Sangguniang Panlungsod session hall on December 5 from 1 t0 5 in the afternoon. This will continue on December 6 at the same venue from 8:30 am to 12 noon.
Alvarez has written every department requesting at least three employees to join the activity where they will be issued certificates of participation.
To culminate the week-long event, a City Hall Employees Got Talent activity will be held on December 7 at the City Hall grounds where Mayor Domogan is expected to deliver his inspirational message. /Gaby Keith
