City lauds top taxpayers

BAGUIO CITY – The ten top business taxpayers and real property taxpayers were recognized and lauded by the city government here during the regular flag raising ceremony at the Baguio City Hall grounds last Monday, April 25.

DHL Global Forwarding Phils., Inc. was declared the number one business taxpayer having paid P2,094,429 followed by Camp John Hay Hotel Corporation with P1,166,428 and Mt. Maid Training and Development Foundation, P1,002,977.

The rest in the top ten were the Puregold Price Club Incorporated, Imelda Lao, Highland Gaming Corporation, Phil. American Life and General Insurance, Maybank Philippines Incorporated, ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation and Alfonso Lao.

On the other hand, the city has collected P1,694,855.80 real property from Jarco Realty and Development Corporation, P1,369,358.60 from the Baguio Country Club Corporation, and P1,212,765.20 from Charles Ingram Ang.

Included in the lists of top ten real property taxpayers are spouses Roberto and Cecilia Chantioco, Azalea Leisure Residences Corporation, Megapines Realty and Development Incorporated, Delta Motor Sales Corporation, Goldencrown Group Realty Incorporated, Martonito Liwayway and Yolanda Uy Dimagiba.

The city government has been recognizing yearly top business and real property taxpayers in Baguio which has a greatly uplifted the city in terms of economy.

In his message, mayor Domogan expressed his appreciation to the said top business and real property taxpayers and further stressed that taxes being paid to the city will eventually benefit the citizens of Baguio. /Jho Arranz
