BAGUIO CITY – A city, health office and education-based technical working group (TWG) is convened through an administrative order issued by Mayor Mauricio Domogan last week, in preparation for the Consistent Regional Outstanding Winner in Nutrition (CROWN) evaluation.
Administrative Order 62, 2017 designates City Planning and Development Officer Engr. Evelyn Cayat, Khima Cino of the Alternative Learning System of the Department of Education (ALS Dep-Ed), Dep-Ed Schools Divisions head Atty. Agustin Laban, Marie Joven of the Health Services Office, Education and Population Office (HSO-HEPO), Julie Calpotura of the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC), and the City Public Information Office representative as TWG to work with the assigned secretariat, starting March 27.
The TWG conducts review of documentation done in accordance with the Philippine Plan of Action on Nutrition (PPAN) and prepares the city’s accomplishments for presentation to the multi-sectoral National Nutrition Evaluation Team (NNET) in May 2017.
The city has been recognized for its Nutrition Program implementation, garnered a green banner for the past three years and as a result, garnered the CROWN in Manila last year.
A three-time CROWN series puts the area in the national level hall-of-fame, which the city is vying for, in the field of good governance, health and nutrition. /Julie G. Fianza#
