BANGUED, Abra – Amidst the proposal of President Rodrigo Duterte to postpone the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections scheduled on October 23, 2017, the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) here is continuing its preparations.
Provincial Election Supervisor Mae Richelle Beronilla urges qualified voters who have not registered yet to register now until April 29, 2017 in case the law governing the conduct of barangay elections is not amended.
Beronilla said the barangays can coordinate with the election officers for satellite or offsite registration.
For voters who want to transfer and those who have corrections with their names, Beronilla advises them to bring documents like certificate of residency or birth certificate.
The scheduled filing of certificate of candidacy will be on September 23 to September 30, 2017. /PIA Abra#
