BAGUIO CITY – The leadership of the National Commission on Culture and Arts (NCCA) is urging Cordillerans to actively join this year’s arts and culture projects to continue to fulfil its mandate of preserving, developing and promoting Philippine arts and culture.
NCCA arts section head Ferdinand Isleta explained the Commission continues to provide financial and technical assistance to arts and culture projects that come from the different parts of the country to entice Filipinos to be actively involved in the implementation of the projects.
He said the proposals submitted by August 31 this year will be implemented next year, thus, artists and cultural workers must grab the opportunity of getting grants for their projects.
Further, the NCCA is also continuously looking for implementing partners of projects conceptualized by the agency to enhance the development of arts and culture in the country to date.
Under the existing guidelines for the 2018 call for project proposals on arts and culture, projects are categorized into arts, heritage, cultural dissemination; and cultural communities and traditional arts.
Isleta disclosed project brief and guidelines and requirements can be viewed and downloaded at the NCCA website for easier access of the required details of what to submit to the agency.
According to him, Filipino individuals as well as civil society organizations, indigenous peoples’ organizations or groups, local government units, government agencies, state universities and colleges and public schools are all encouraged to apply for the grant.
The NCCA official said all proposals and letters of intent must be submitted on or before August 31, 2017 to the planning , policy formulation and programming division led by its division chief Bernan Corpuz at Room 5-B, 5th Floor, NCCA building, 633 General Luna Street, Intramuros, Manila./By Dexter A.
