Council Asked to Adopt Master Development for Botanical Park

BAGUIO CITY – The city council is set to act on the proposed master development plan of the Baguio Centennial and Botanical Park prepared by the St. Louis University in its session tomorrow, Monday.

The council committee on tourism, special events, parks and playgrounds recommended the approval and adoption of the plan and its inclusion in the priority projects of the city for the year 2015.

City environment and parks management officer Cordelia Lacsamana pushed for the adoption of the plan for funding purposes.

She said the plan which captures the concept of “Walk through Time” and the conservation of nature was prepared in 2011 by the SLU School of Engineering and Architecture, Department of Architecture Engineering Urban Planning Research Laboratory with Arch. Maria Criselda Soriano as project coordinator and Arch. Joseph Alabanza as the principal consultant.

“This is the offshoot of our continuing coordination and linkage with our prime educational institutions in the city in the field of environment and parks management,” Lacsamana said.
