DSWD Leads CCT Pay-out and Convergence Caravan in Benguet Towns

BOKOD, Benguet – The Department of Social Welfare and Development Cordillera Regional Office led a simultaneous pay-out activity and convergence caravan in this town and in Kabayan on April 27.
This is in line with its goal to bring in government service directly to Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program or 4Ps beneficiaries’ as well as to give them venue to share their stories on how the program affected their life.
For this town, the Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) health and educational assistance of P 600 for the month of January and February, this year, was directly delivered to the 600 4Ps household beneficiaries.
DSWD 4Ps coordinator for Bokod Orlyn Hangdaan gave updates about the program while a an info desk (booth) was also set-up program beneficiaries to update the education status of their children beneficiaries, such as if they already graduated, elevated from elementary to high school or will have a change schools, as well as to air their other concerns about the program.or the Pantawid Pamilya.
Partner regional line agencies such as the Commission on Population, Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire, Commission on Election and the department of Labor and Employment, as well as Bokod municipal health Office, also set-up program and service desk for the beneficiaries.
Civil society organization partner for Bokod, Metropolitan Bible Baptist Church Preacher Daniel Delfin, also gave an inspirational/spiritual message.
The program beneficiaries also shared their stories and experiences as 4Ps beneficiaries and on how the program has affected their lives for the better.
DSWD personnel headed by Regional Information Officer Nerizza Faye Villanueva documented all the proceedings for success stories to be shared to others and for aired concerns to be looked into for continuing improvement and better implementation of the program.
In partnership with Philippine Information Agency, two teams of media practitioners were included in the caravan so that program updates and stories of beneficiaries can also be shared to the public.
Meanwhile, Villanueva shared that in 2014, DSWD distributed a total of P714,105,900 health and educational assistance for 4Ps beneficiaries in the region. For 2015, around P1.349M was allocated to cover the health and educational assistance of the 62,431 household beneficiaries in Cordillera./JDP/CCD and Jean Paulyn Samillano – PIA/ UB Intern
