CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga – Department of Trade and Industry(DTI) Cordillera Regional Director Myrna Pablo urged for closer partnership with media outfits and the provincial consumer networks in the promotion of ‘e-presyo’ which the Agency launched recently.
With the “e-Presyo”, consumers can now be abreast of prices of basic necessities and prime commodities.
With the click of a finger, consumers with android and iPhone cell phone can browse the internet by opening DTI website at www.dti.gov.ph then go to “CONSUMERS” tab and click on “e-presyo ‘‘
Consumers see in “e-Presyo” suggested retail prices of basic necessities and prime commodities; monitored prevailing prices and stores with the lowest prices; and comparative prevailing prices (a week ago, a month ago, 3 months ago, and a year ago).
With the creation of the online price monitoring system (OPMS), consumers can check the prevailing prices of basic and prime goods. “This will heighten consumer knowledge and awareness on prevailing prices, guide consumers on their grocery shopping, and protects consumers.
In a press briefing with local media, also directed DTI provincial personnel to maximize the use of radio in disseminating the salient features of the OPMS.
In response to Pablo’s call for media advocacy, Apong Dalen, announcer of Radyo Natin FM, offered free time slot for DTI to report regular price monitoring updates through her Radyo Natin In Action program. /JDP/PAB-PIA CAR, Kalinga#
