Elderly summit set October 4

BAGUIO CITY – A summit on elderly concerns is slated on Oct. 4, 1p.m. at the Multi-purpose Hall, City Hall.

City council secretary Brenner Bengwayan said the forum will be led by the city council committee on social services, women and urban poor chaired by Councilor Lilia Farinas.

It aims to gather concerned sectors to get their opinions and consensus on the different concerns affecting the senior citizens in the city.

With the inputs gathered, the city council aims to develop guidelines that will meet the needs of the various aged groups residing in the city with emphasis on their needs.

These will also be the basis in formulating guidelines and policies on how the rights and privileges of the elderly can be availed as mandated by law.

The summit also seeks to gather inputs on how the elderly sector can contribute to the welfare of the community.
