Fighting corruption at BOC thru IIAIU, useless

LIFE’S INSPIRATIONS: “… The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time… for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God..” (Genesis 6:5-7, Romans 3:23, the Holy Bible).

FIGHTING CORRUPTION AT BOC THRU IIAIU, USELESS: When, really, will our leaders in government and in Philippine society, like Customs Commissioner Isidro Lapena, ever learn? When will Lapena and others who are leaders like him realize that leaving sinfulness and corruption and criminality will never materialize if we only depend on human commands, and ignore God’s Will?

With due respect, I am constrained to say that the Interim Internal Affairs and Integrity Unit (IIAIU) that Lapena created at the Bureau of Customs in the month of December 2017 to allegedly track down and eliminate corruption among its officials and employees will again be similarly useless and ineffective.

Corruption in the heart, in the mind, and in the spirit, has become a part not only of the Customs bureaucracy but of the entire nation as well. And we can only fight this off if we bring back our people to a sincere reaching out to the Word of God in the Bible, and to an honest obedience to His commands. This is what Lapena and the Duterte government should aspire for, first and foremost, if they want true change to come to us!

OBLIGATIONS OF POLICEMEN UNDER R.A. 7438 (X): As a final point in our discussions on Republic Act 7438, we wish to clarify the penalties that await policemen, soldiers, and other law enforcement officers, who will deprive those they have arrested, invited for questioning, or subjected to an investigation, of their rights under the law. First, there is a penalty of imprisonment from eight to 10 years for violations of RA 7438.

They will also be required to pay a fine of P6,000.00, and will be prevented from holding any other position in government as long as they live. According to the Revised Penal Code as well, violators of RA 7438 will also be ordered to pay damages to their victims as every person criminally liable is also civilly liable.

Then, benefits arising from their government service will also no longer be given to policemen violating the law. They will thereafter be dishonorably discharged from the service. Worse of all, they will be forever marked as black sheep in government service.

STORIES ABOUT GOD’S COMING TO EARTH, IN THE FORM OF MAN (V): Did Joseph separate from Mary, the virgin mother of Jesus, after he came to know that she was already pregnant even if they haven’t been physically together yet? No, and instead, he took care of Mary, brought her to his home and even cared for Jesus after He was born.

In Matthew 1:18-25 of the Bible, we take note of the assurance given by the angel that talked to Joseph in a dream to prevent him from separating with Mary that the baby boy she was to give birth to was from the Holy Spirit. We can also see from these verses the further assurance of the Bible that the birh of the baby boy, whose Name will be Jesus, was in fulfillment of the prophecies in Isaiah 7:14 and 9:6.

Isaiah 7:14 and 9:6 are declarations by the Bible that God Himself will come to earth in the form of man. When Joseph woke up, he obeyed what the angel told him, accepting Mary in his own home even if he avoided having any physical relations with him before the baby was born. When the baby was finally born, Joseph dutifully named Him “Joseph”, which meant “Savior of his people.”
