Gamot Para sa Kapwa campaign helps less fortunate communities

BAGUIO CITY -Join the Gamot Para sa Kapwa campaign, and help provide less fortunate communities with disaster ready tools.

The Gamot Para sa Kapwa campaign is a joint project of the SM Store and Watsons in partnership with the Department of Health, the Department of Social Welfare and Development, and SM Foundation which aims to provide quality health and emergency assistance to indigent communities in the country.

Shoppers may visit Gamot Para sa Kapwa booths at SM and buy a Sureaid Disaster Kit worth P99 or buy 2 kits for only P190 exclusively distributed by Watsons, for donation or personal use. These kits are economical which make them easy on the pocket for customers to donate for a worthy project.

Each kit contains items needed for quick survival during calamities like Sureaid Emergency blanket, 300 ml bottled water, flashlight, whistle and masks.

The campaign runs until September 30, 2015.

All donors are also entitled to a P50 coupon to be redeemed with minimum single receipt purchase of any Watsons brand worth P350 valid until September 30, 2016. Proceeds will go to DOH accredited beneficiaries nationwide.

Last year, a total of 12,000 units were sold and donated to the beneficiaries of the DOH, SM Baguio Press Relations Manager Karren Nobres said.

According to Nobres, this project was conceived to aid the disaster preparedness and mitigation program of the government, giving people in disaster-prone communities the initial ability to help themselves in the advent of natural disasters and other man-made accidents./JDP/RMC- PIA CAR
