CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga – Acting Governor James Edduba called on all public servants to do their functions according to Civil Service rules and make public service their passion for life.
Edduba made the call on Monday during launching of the month-long celebration of the 117th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary that started with a motorcade and ended with a program at the Capitol.
Adduba earlier issued Memorandum Order No. 2017-77 enjoining all heads of offices and their employees to participate in all scheduled activities of the Civil Service Month including rendering civic duties for the community.
Among the line up activities include clean-up drive and service deliveries. On September 8, employees of national line agencies and local offices will clean the national highway from Calanan Grotto Marker to Namnama Elementary School, and towards Capitol Hills and the provincial road from Carabao Marker to Rotary Marker.
On September 15 will be the R.A.C.E. Unity Walk from Rotary Marker to White Carabao then to Circle Rotonda going up to the Kalinga Sports Center. Physical fitness exercise will be staged through hataw and Zumba. There will be a program proper, indigenous games and grand ‘Salu-Salo’ from potluck contributions of employees.
On September 21 will be an information education campaign on illegal drugs, fire and disaster preparedness at the Kalinga State University.
The Professional Regulation Commission will conduct licensing while the Department of Labor and Employment will hold job recruitment and career coaching on Sept. 28.
The celebration culminates on Sept. 29 with the establishment of Philhealth, Pag-ibig and GSIS Express Service Center and a special treat for Lingkod Bayani. (JDP/PAB-PIA CAR, Kalinga)
