BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya – In continuing efforts to strengthen the skills in disaster and emergency management of the province, more than 40 representatives from various agencies and local government units underwent the level two Integrated Planning Course on Incident Command System (ICS) at Tam-an Resort here recently.
This course enhanced the participants’ knowledge and skills necessary to perform the duties and responsibilities of the planning section chief and unit leaders in the ICS organization like resources, situation, documentation and demobilization units.
Trainors from the Cordillera Incident Manage Team facilitated the training and discussed the seven modules that include overview of the planning section; forms, documents and supplies; planning section chief; resource and demobilization unit leader; situation unit leader; documentation unit leader and transfer of command, demobilization and closeout.
“It was observed in the previous disasters the lack of an effective on-scene management operation that hampers the delivery of services. We hope that with the conduct of this training, the participants gained the necessary skills as emergency/disaster responders,” said Cecil Unghiyon, acting Provincial Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Officer.
