Independence Day Jobs Fair Gets Green Light

BAGUIO CITY – the Department of Labor and Employment Cordillera in partnership with the City Government –Public Employment Services Office (PESO) and partner agencies will be conducting the Kalayaan Day jobs fair on June 12 at the University of the Cordilleras here.
More than a thousand local, government and overseas job vacancies for various skills will be up for grabs as part of the 117th Philippine Independence Day celebrations anchored on this year’s theme; “Kalayaan 2015, Tagumpay sa Pagbabagong Nasimulan, Abot-Kamay na ng Bayan.”
Jobseekers are advised to come early as gates of UC theatre opens at exactly 7:30 am.
Applicants are advised to prepare enough copies of pre-employment requirements such as resume, diploma, Nbi and Police clearances, transcript of records, certificates of training or employment and pictures to facilitate applications.
The Kalayaan Jobs Fair is a yearly event to give opportunity to the unemployed the chance to search for decent work through the jobs fair.
Regional Director Henry John Jalbuena said, “vacancies for call center agents, customer service representatives, technical support representatives, cashiers, merchandisers, baggers, real estate consultants, sales clerks, porters, delivery truck drivers, helpers, stock clerks and more will be offered by local companies participating in the jobs fair.”
A pre-registration activity for jobseekers will be on June 8 to 11 from 8 am to 5 pm at the DOLE Baguio Field office located at Cabinet Hill for jobs skills matching./Paul Rillorta
