ITOGON, Benguet – Mayor Victorio Palangdan reminded miners to be more careful in their mining operations following the death of three small scale miners here last Tuesday.
“We are advising the small scale miners to observe extra diligence to save their lives and properties during their mining operations,” Palangdan said in an interview.
The Mayor said the municipal government and other government agencies are always reminding miners to always place first their safety and security before entering their mine tunnels and doing their mine operations.
On Tuesday, three small scale miners died of gas poisoning at a private mine tunnel in Fatima, Ucab, Itogon, Benguet.
The police identified the victims as Rosalino Api-it Narciza, 54; Barry Rimando Api-it, 36; and Santiago Falikao Banganan, 32, all natives and residents of Ucab, Itogon.The mine tunnel was owned by Narciza.
