Jobstart program to open 200 skills training for out-of-school youths, unemployed

BAGUIO CITY – Attention out-of-school youth and job seekers.

The Dept. of Labor and Employment and the city government through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) will open 200 slots for skills training and possible employment under the Jobstart Philippines Program.

Public Employment Services Office (PESO) designate and Executive Assistant Jose Atanacio of the city mayor’s office said the program consists of life skills training for up to three months where grantees will be entitled to a P200 daily allowance, free snacks and meal and free accident insurance for one year and afterwards, they may referred to employers for technical training and internship with allowance and internship stipend or for direct employment.

Registration period will be on Sept. 25-27 at the Baguio City Hall Museum (below the Flag Pole) on a first-come-first-served basis.

Application is open to male or female, between 18-24 years old, at least high school graduate, college level or college graduate with 0-12-month work experience, currently unemployed, not enrolled in school and preferably a resident of Baguio City.

The requirements are birth certificate, diploma (one photocopy of high school or college diploma), training certificate (optional), resume (one original copy of the registrant’s updated resume) and two 1×1 colored photo./Aileen P. Refuerzo
