TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Barangay Bulanao Centro, the largest barangay of the province, is the second most populated barangay in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) with 19,636 next to Barangay Irisan of Baguio City with 30,507.
This was shown in the recent national mid-decade population census by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) last August 2015.
PSA Provincial Officer Maribel Dalayday reported that of the province’s 152 barangays Barangay Anggacan Sur of Tanudan has the least population with 281.
Meanwhile, the same census of population showed that Kalinga’s population increased to 212,680 compared to that in 2010 with 201, 603 or a population growth rate of 5.5%, Dalayday informed.
From 2010 to 2015, the province posted an average annual population growth rate of 1.5%.
Tabuk City has the highest with 110,642, while Lubuagan municipality has the least with 8,783.
