ASIPULO, Ifugao – The ban on selling of liquor and other intoxicating drinks has greatly contributed to the peace and order situation of the municipality.
Senior Police Officer 4 Richard Buhong of the Asipulo Municipal Police Station bared this in a radio program . The municipality as a liquor-free place is attained through the collaborative efforts of local officials and the community as a whole, he said.
The barangay councils of the nine regular barangays and three special economic zones had passed ordinances banning the selling of liquor in their respective places. Even the “baya” (native wine) is included in the ban.
Penalties of erring stores include confiscation of goods or commodities with corresponding payment of fines and revocation of mayor’s permit.
