Mall employees share ‘ChriSmiles’ to children

BAGUIO CITY – – The around 100 administration and cinema employees of SM City Baguio join hands once again for their volunteering project “ChriSmiles” to share Christmas Joy and smiles to others..

For this year, they brought their ChrisMiles volunteer celebration to the children of the mall’s security and maintenance personnel, treating them to a day of fun games, food treats, gift – giving and film showing, in a program at the mall’s lower basement, Monday (December 14).

Aside for the gifts they prepared for the children, the employees also prepared SM (stuffed) Care bears that the 40 children beneficiaries will also share to other children that deserve it.

Assistant Mall manager Rona Vida Correa, in a message, disclosed that their volunteer celebration “ChriSmiles” aims to make their Christmas season more meaningful by sharing a part of their blessings to touch the lives of others.

Correa said it is just right and fitting that they share joy and smiles to the children of their security and maintenance (janitorial) employees, as their work is equally important in ensuring a smooth mall operation.

“It makes us really happy that the chosen beneficiaries for this year’s ChriSmiles are those who are really close to our hearts…people who always greet us with us with a smile each day. People that we see how hard they work just to give you a better future. I am proud that I am part of a team of hard working and happy workers,” she said.

SM Baguio Media Relations Officer Karren Nobres, also shared that their project “ChriSmiles” is now the fifth year of spreading the spirit of Christmas, which is sharing and giving, even beyond the mall’s wall.

In 2010 and 2011, the ChriSmiles beneficiaries were children with disabilities; for 2012, an eight year old girl with leukemia, and last year, to children with disabilities./JDP/CCD – PIA CAR
