BAGUIO CITY – To address the growing problem of the Gibraltar pavement caused by the on-going construction, a meeting was scheduled to all concerned government agencies and Suntrust 88 of the Megaworld Corporation, Friday afternoon, June 16.
Mayor Mauricio Domogan will convene them so that once and for all, the present problem endangering not only the lives and properties of the adjoining community be resolved before the onslaught of typhoon.
Previously, Domogan directed CBAO and CEO personnel to closely monitor measures being taken by the developer.
Unfortunately, it was found out that there are lapses and violations in the implementation of the DPWH project rehabilitating the drainage systems within the developing area through its contractor G.A Flores that contributed to the erosion of riprap walls.
Accordingly, the faulty pipes installed is not enough to bring down the entire foundation of the road and at the same time there are cross drains found connected to the city’s +sewerline which is a clear violation of the city’s building standards.
However, this will not disregard possible lapses of the developer on their compliance with the permit issued to them.
The local executive requested all concerned government agencies to bring along with them necessary documents and present the same to thrash out the issue at hand as well as to look for viable solutions and immediate remedial measures to restore the road. /Jho Arranz
