New Benguet Police OIC Assumes Post

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet — A former chief of the Baguio City Police Office assumed the leadership of the Benguet Provincial Police Office.
On Wednesday (May 20), Police Regional Office – Cordillera Regional Director, PCSupt. Isagani Nerez, presided in the turn over of leadership ceremonies of outgoing Benguet PPO Director PSSupt. Rodolfo Azurin Jr. to incoming Officer-in-Charge, PSSupt. David Lacdan.
Azurin, a member of the Philippine Military Academy Class 1989, served as the Benguet top cop since January 2013. He will be moving to the office of the Policies, Plans and Programs of the Directorate for Personnel and Management in Camp Crame.
Lacdan, of PMA Class 1987, has occupied various positions with the BCPO and Pro-Cor including chief of the intelligence operations division of the Directorate for Intelligence.
He will be the OIC of the Benguet PPO until Governor Nestor Fongwan choose a provincial director from among the shortlist of candidates that include four other police officers.
In his message, Azurin thanked local and police officials, his mentors and the community, among others. He mentioned during his stint as provincial director he has focused on the two “C’s” of a great leader, “Competence and Character” – which he hopes would be lived by the police officers.
Lacdan vowed to sustain the peacekeeping efforts as well as to continue the programs which was started by the outgoing director and others before him. He said he will focuse on the basics of crime prevention and crime solution for the province.
He added that at the moment, the Benguet PPO is focusing on the Brigada Eskwela and the Balik Eskwela programs with the Department of Education./JDP/RMC- PIA CAR
