New set of Members of the PLEB take Oath

BAGUIO CITY – The new set of members of the People’s Law Enforcement Board (PLEB) of the city government here took their oath of office before Mayor Mauricio Domogan last October 28 at the Sangguniang Panlungsod session hall during the 4th quarterly meeting of the City Justice, Peace and Order Council (CJPOC).

The members who took their oath of office were retired P/Insp. Mercedez Garcia, punong barangay of East Quirino Hill, Atty. Eric Ueda and retired Col. Victor Diego. While, Atty. Roberto Mabalot, Jr. still remains a member of the PLEB.

As PLEB members, they are expected to perform their duties imposed in accordance with the pertinent provisions of law and regulation; to administer justice without partiality, favor or affection; to keep the deliberation of the board with strictest secrecy and confidence; and to impose the obligation voluntarily without mental reservation or purpose of evasion.

PLEB rules of procedure memorandum circular no. 2002-010 states: “the PLEB will have the power to hear and adjudicate all citizen’s complaints formally filed with or referred to it, against any uninformed member of the Philippine National Police, and if, warranted, impose the corresponding penalty.”

Accordingly, the PLEB members will convene to conduct their first hearing and at the same time elect among themselves who will be the chairman of the PLEB on Nov. 6./Jho Arranz
