OCSWADO receives 2,500 soup bowls from BCSRF

The Baguio Congressman’s Social Responsibility Foundation (BCSRF) spearheaded by Mrs. LilianAliping and the spouses of the board of trustees of the foundation turned over 2,500 pcs. of soup bowls to Office of the City Social Welfare and Development Office headed by City Social Welfare Officer Betty Fangasan.

“The soup bowls will be distributed to various Day Care Centers of the City in support of the government’s supplementary feeding program (SFP),” said Mrs. Aliping.

Mrs. Aliping has supported the government’s project in several Day Care Centers in need in the City. Several times Mrs. Aliping has convened her high school batch mates, the spouses of the board of trustees of the foundation and conducted their own feeding programs in day care centers with high records of malnourished children.

Present during the turn-over were Mrs. Dina Perez, Mrs.Janette Orca, Mrs. Paraan, Ms. Karminn Cheryl Yangot, Atty. MagsCabato, Mrs. MacreCosalan, Mrs. Carol Allad-iw, Coun. Lilia Yaranon, Ms. Nikki Aliping, Mrs. Lilian Aliping and Mrs. Betty Fangasan. It was witnessed by Cong. Nicasio M. Aliping Jr., Coun. Joel Alangsab and also Mr. Harry Dominguez.

The SFP which started in 2010 is intended to benefit a total of 2.05 million children in 1,361 LGU’s that include the children registered both in the LGU-run day care centers and supervise neighborhood play (SNP).

The SFP for this school year was started last July 2, 2015 and will continue until March to keep the children well-nourished for the rest of the school year./Carl C. Taawan
