LIFE’S INSPIRATIONS: “… Who among the gods is like you, LORD… The LORD reigns forever and ever…” (Exodus 15:11 and 18, the Holy Bible).

ONLY GOD HAS THE SOLUTION TO THE METRO WATER CRISIS: Water and its on-going shortage and impending total disappearance especially in Metro Manila is an issue that I wish to dwell on one more time here in today’s Kakampi Mo Ang Batas column. This is to underscore the imperative point that there is no other solution to this problem but our God and Savior whose name is Jesus, our God and Savior who is God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
It is not the Duterte government nor its leader, and not the concessionaires who have already profited, and are continuing to profit much, even now, in their distribution and sale of water to the residents of Metro Manila and other nearby places, which have the capacity and the savvy to solve this water crisis, especially its forthcoming complete disappearance in the next several days.
It is therefore very important for all of us to immediately realize that only God, and no other, who can make water flow again to millions and millions of customers listed under the concession agreements of Maynilad and Manila Water, and, of course, of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS). The more basic question, however, is: how are we to ask the help of God so we can have water again?

HOW ARE WE TO SEEK GOD’S HELP SO WATER WILL ALREADY RETURN TO METRO MANILA? Many have been saying that we need to pray now, so water will come back and be available again in Metro Manila and, come to think of it, they are mercifully correct. We need to pray, really. The only problem, however, is, we cannot deny the truth that not all who pray or call on God will have their prayers favorably answered by God.
The fact is that there is a condition before God will condescend to respond favorably to those who pray to Him. That condition says, only those who have been obeying the will and the commands of God will have their prayers favorably answered. The people who do nothing but ask and ask, but who have not been studying His will and who have not been obeying His commands, will not get anything, even the courtesy of a negative response.
Therefore, before we even begin to pray and seek God’s intervention to allow water to return to Metro Manila households once again, all of us must endeavor to read His Bible first, because it is only in the Bible where we can discern and know His commands. Thereafter, we should commit whatever we have read in our hearts and in our minds, and subsequently carefully obey all of these all our lives.

ASIDE FROM SEEKING GOD, ISTHERE ANY OTHER WAY TO SOLVE THE ON-GOING WATER CRISIS? The Bible is full of stories showing God’s providing water to the believers of old, the Israelites. One such story pertains to the absence of potable water in a place called Marah (Exodus 15), because all the water therein tasted bitter. The Israelites besieged Moses with complaints, prompting God to directly provide drinking water to them by a miraculous hand.
Then, in a place called Rephidim, the Israelites also did not have water to drink. They complained to Moses once again, who sought God right away. Following God’s command, Moses struck the rock in Horeb, and fresh dirnking water flowed from it immediately. They later called this particular place as Massah and Meribah.
The lesson here is clear: if we Metro Manilans want to solve the on-going water shortage and impending water lack, we should all learn to ask God, but we have to subject ourselves first to Him and His commands, for the return of water to our faucets. Many may consider this proposal of mine as one fit only as a joke, but do they have any other solution to this water problem?
