LIFE’S INSPIRATIONS: “… And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people…” (Ephesians 6:18, the Holy Bible).

THANKING ROTARY GOV. ERNEST, PDG KAREN, DISTRICT 3810: I am publicly thanking Governor Ernest Yuyek and Past District Governor Karen Tamayo of Rotary International District 3810 for choosing me to co-host, yet once again, the Opening Plenary Session of the District’s District Conference (Discon) for 2017, which is to run from March 31, 2017 to April 01, 2017 at the Sofitel Hotel in Pasay City.
I became a Discon co-host, for the very first time, during the incumbency of Governor Tranquil Salvador III, during Rotary Year 2010-2011. Governor Karen was then the overall Discon coordinator in 2011, and, out of the blue, she chose me to co-host the Opening Plenary session then. She was the one who chose me again for the same job, six years later, in 2017, since she again coordinated Discon 2017.
I find this humbling and elating at the same time. The fact is that, in my life as a Rotarian with the Rotary Club of Intramuros Manila since 2004, I have tried limiting my role to the duties given to me by my own Club. Yet, Governor Ernest chose me to become District 3810’s peace and conflict prevention and resolution chairman under his term, while Governor Karen chose me to be a Discon co-host once more. Thank God in the Name of Jesus for this vote of confidence!

PARENTS MUST PRAY WITH THEIR CHILDREN NIGHTLY: Montero Learning Center in Taguig City is a private Church school affiliated with the Anak ng Diyos Kadugo Ni Kristo (AND KNK, or Children of God Blood Kin of the Christ) Church, and this is perhaps the reason why its administrator, Mrs. Carlina Montero, chose me to become its “commencement exercises” speaker last March 29, 2017.
After all, God has chosen me to be the incumbent Leader Disciple of the AND KNK, and Mrs. Montero knew fully well that I would be talking about matters of faith and spirituality whenever I am invited as a speaker, focusing on God’s love, guidance, and protection to those who truly accepted and believed in Him.
Consequently, in my speech before the graduates of the Learning Center, I urged the parents of the pupils who were “moving up” to higher levels to pray with their spouses and their children nightly, in a manner that each and everyone of them would be able to hear what each one of them would be praying for.

PRAYER IS THE MOST POWERFUL WEAPON AGAINST EVIL: Prayer, after all, is a most powerful weapon, especially in this world of ours which is in the strong grip of evil spirits and evil persons, men and women alike. Children are often victimized, molested, raped, and even killed, mostly in a helpless and brutal fashion, by clearly mentally-deranged aggressors.
Once children get out of their homes, for whatever reason, there is nothing much their parents or guardians can do to protect them against evil lurking almost everywhere, unless they are prayed over, not just before they go to school, but more on a nightly basis. Prayer compels the Holy Spirit of God to descend on everyone involved in the prayer, most especially the defenseless children.
I told the parents of the students that, by God’s grace and permission, my wife and I have had the good fortune of engaging in nightly prayers with our only child, our daughter Maria Luisa, ever since she was just two years old. These nightly prayers continued through the years, until now that she is already 28 years old and has become a lawyer, and I can say God’s blessings, guidance, and protection have been with us unfailingly. Thank God in the Name of Jesus.
