BANGUED, Abra – The Philippine National Police-Regional Public Safety Battalion and Provincial Public Safety Company initiated Voters’ Education campaign especially in areas of special concern.
Based n the previous elections, Bangued and Pidigan are identified as hotspots this coming polls due to intense political rivalries.
Police Supt. Salvador Aglibot Claro of the Abra PNP Command said they visited and gathered people in every barangay in Bangued for lecture, short audio-visual presentation. They also distributed flyers.
“We advised the people to widen their discernment and vote for a leader who will lead them in peace and prosperity and not in vain.”
Claro expounded that the PNP strongly warned the people from selling their votes to political candidates. “If they sell their votes, they should never expect development in any form for many years since those candidates will take back all the money they paid for them during the elections,”he said.
He stressed that the role of the police this forthcoming elections is to respect and protect the sanctity of the electorate’s votes, ensure the truthfulness and integrity of the elections and be content and supportive to whoever gets the mandate of the people.
After their voters’ education campaign in Pidigan, the PNP also conducted medical and dental mission with PRO-COR Regional Director PCSupt Ulysses J. Abellera. Claro said there are 346 elders, children and infants who were served./GBB– PIA CAR, Abra
