PNP Chief confers PGS Initiation Stage to PRO-Cor

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet, Nov. 5 (PIA) — The Police Regional Office – Cordillera was conferred Performance Governance System Initiation Stage by Philippine National Police Chief Police Director General Alan Purisima during a visit at here in the province last week.
Purisima together with PRO-Cor Regional Director PCSupt. Isagani Nerez lead the awarding ceremony to the almost 100 provincial , municipal and city stations in the region.
The Golden Eagle Award was given to the Abra Provincial Public Safety Company for garnering the highest ranking of 96 percent among police offices in the Cordillera Region.
Silver Eagle awardees were the Alfonso Lista Municipal Police Station in Ifugao who got 94.62%, Abra Provincial Public Safety Company with 90.71% and Conner Municipal Police Station in Apayao with 90.68 % rating.
Among the offices conferred the initiation stage for passing series of interviews by a panel members from the Regional, Provincial and Municipal Advisory Council were the 27 Municipal Police Stations (MPS) of the Abra Provincial Police Office (PPO); seven MPS of Apayao PPO; 10 City Police Stations of the Baguio City Police Office; 13 MPS of Benguet PPO; 11 MPS of Ifugao PPO; 10 MPS of Mountain Province PPO; eight MPS of Kalinga PPO, seven MPS of Apayao PPO and the Provincial Public Safety Company of each of the province and the Baguio City Public Safety Company.
In his keynote speech, Purisima congratulated the PRO-COr awardees and made special mention to the Golden and Silver awardees for garnering a rating of 90 percent and above in the recent evaluation conducted.
“Your conferment and awards coupled with the active participation of your respective advisory council members are concrete manifestations that the PNP PATROL Plan 2030, enhanced by the Strategic Focus CODE-P and Beyond and with the PGS as the management tool is truly and religiously being implemented in the excellent performance of all active PRO-Cor personnel in the e-learning, which is a best practice that finds its origin in this regional office,” said Purisima.
“Guided by your strategy map and scorecard, PRO-Cor has demonstrated exemplary performance in all of the four perspectives in resource management, learning and growth, process excellence and the community,” he added.
The awardees were recognized for their commitment, unwavering support and implementation of plans, projects, programs and activities in the PNP Peace and Order Agenda for Transformation and the Rule of Law (PATROL) Plan 2030 which is geared towards attainment of the PNP vision of becoming a highly capable, effective and credible police service working in partnership with a responsive community towards the attainment of a safer place to live, work and do business.”
Last year, the region has received a rating of 97.4, the highest among the first batch of the Directorial Staff, National Support Units and Police Regional Offices who applied for certification.
Requirements in the initiation stage are : a) Formation Technical Working Group, b) Establishment of Regional Police Strategy Management Units, c) Formation of Regional Advisory Council, d) Formulation of Unit/PRO Strategy Map and Governance Scorecard, e) Regular submission of quarterly scorecard report, and f) Development of Implan to Complan.
On top of these, the commitment of top leadership, strategic change agenda, Charter Statement, strategy map, enterprise scorecard, and strategic initiatives as elements of the PNP P.A.T.R.O.L. Plan 2030 affected the region’s performance./JDP/ RMC- PIA CAR
