MANILA– Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa has ordered a nationwide manhunt against businessman Jack Lam who was ordered arrested by President Rodrigo Duterte due to allegations of bribery and economic sabotage.
Jack Lam was earlier accused by DOJ Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II of attempted bribery to release the 1,316 Chinese nationals who were arrested for working without permit at the Fontana Leisure Parks and Casino in Pampanga.
Dela Rosa said that due to alleged bribery and economic sabotage, hence, the President ordered the arrest of the businessman who is an operator of online gaming in Fontana, Clark, Pampanga.
Likewise, Dela Rosa urged the public to immediately report to the nearest police station any information that would lead to the arrest of Lam.
“Kung sino nakakaalam kung nasaan si Jack Lam ngayon, ito ay isang Chinese national na nag-ooperate ng online gaming sa Fontana Clark, ipagbigay-alam lang po sa ating kapulisan sa nearest police station, (Whoever knows the whereabouts of Jack Lam now, he is a Chinese national operating an online gaming in Fontana, Clark, please report it to the nearest police station),” Dela Rosa said.
The PNP chief noted that he has issued instruction to all PNP units nationwide to arrest Lam.
Dela Rosa said that he has coordinated with Bureau of Immigration (BI) Commissioner Jaime Morente about the directive of President Duterte.
However, Dela Rosa said, he has no idea whether a Hold Departure Order (HDO) against businessman Lam has already been issued.
President Duterte has directed the PNP and the BI to make sure that the businessman would not be able to leave the country.
Dela Rosa said that they will do everything so that “technicalities” will not be raised when they arrest Lam such that there is still no case filed against him. (PNA)
