BAGUIO CITY – Mayor Mauricio Domogan has issued 99 demolition orders through the anti-squatting and anti-illegal structures committee from January to September this year.
This was revealed by City Buildings and Architecture Office (CBAO) demolition team chief Stephen Capuyan in Monday’s flag-raising rites at City Hall before officials and employees led by Rep. Mark Go and Vice-Mayor Edison Bilog. CBAO is headed by Engr. Nazita Banez.
Capuyan said 27 of the demolition orders were already implemented by the demolition team while eight were voluntarily demolished by the respondents themselves.
He added that 60 of the orders were deferred by the Mayor due to further negotiations of both parties involved and some due to the issuance of temporary restraining orders by the courts while three were settled by both parties, the complainants and respondents.
Capuyan said the long-delayed demolition of illegal structures at the BIBAK compound was peacefully and successfully implemented on October 18 as he thanked all the agencies involved in the operation.
During the same period, he said CBAO’s investigation division received and acted upon 433 complaints against illegal on-going constructions where it served 93 notices of violation.
Capuyan said most, if not all, of the investigation reports were submitted to the anti-squatting and anti-illegal structures committee for proper deliberation.-gaby keith
