THE REAL PROBLEM ON POLITICAL DYNASTIES, CHIEF JUSTICE PUNO, ARE LEADERS WHO FAILED TO TEACH OUR PEOPLE GOOD VALUES: Well, Chief Justice Reynato Puno, isn’t it true that the politicians and their relatives who regularly run for, and then win and are installed at, public offices are elected by the Filipino electorate themselves? Isn’t it a fact that Filipino voters themselves are the ones electing families who have formed political dynasties?
If it is the people themselves who have been installing, by their votes, candidates who are related to one another to different elective positions, isn’t that democracy in action, Mr. Chief Justice? Perhaps, if our voting countrymen were only properly taught by erudite and learned leaders, like you, Chief Justice Puno, they would be more circumspect in choosing who they would vote for.
Perhaps, if Filipino voters were only taught how to have a healthy fear and obedience and love of God by our Christian leaders, like you, Chief Justice Puno, they would no longer be selling their votes, or maybe, they would no longer be voting for candidates who are known to be corrupt and selfish. The real problem here, Chief, are our leaders who failed to do something good for our people, or who failed to teach good values to our countrymen!

DIVORCE IS NOT THE ANSWER TO MARITAL WOES, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN OF CONGRESS: If the truth be told, the problem in this country today really are our leaders, particularly those who have been installed as congressmen and senators, who have apparently not been blessed with the capacity to think of appropriate solutions that would solve the many ills confronting the nation.
Beloved lawmakers, divorce is not the answer to the problems of couples who find themselves at odds and could not understand one another. The real answer is, teaching them the commands of God which mandate love for one’s spouse and offspring, for family and for fellow human beings. If only Filipinos have imbibed love of God and love of neighbors, we will have no need for any divorce.
The problem is that, almost everyone nowadays have become illiterate and ignorant of the commands of God, and this includes those who have been in power, in various sensitive and top-ranking government positions, thereby enabling evil thoughts to control their minds and their way of thinking. Well, indeed, this control of the devil of the minds of many was prophesied to happen by the Bible itself.

QUESTIONS FOR PROSECUTOR GENERAL JORGE CATALAN ON DRUGS CASES: Yahoo, Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II! No one among your prosecutors will dare to discharge their duties and responsibilities anymore if you continue coming out in the media with your doubts about their work. What you should have done, Mr. Secretary, before you publicized your directive to the National Bureau of Investigation to investigate your prosecutors who dismissed the drugs cases of known drug lords, was to allow the process in your department to be completed first.
So, okay, what would you do, Mr. Secretary, if it would turn out that the decision of your panel of prosecutors was indeed in accordance with the facts and the law? In the meantime, their reputations and good character have already been tarnished. If I were one of your fiscals at the DOJ—and I am glad I am not—I really wouldn’t be doing anything anymore lest I be similarly accused by you.
Anyway, my brother, Atty. Leny Mauricio, reacted in Filipino, which I am translating in English here: “I have been hearing some wild rumors about this. According to one of my neighbors whose name is Tiagong Taga (roughly translated, James the bolo-wielder), the prosecutors would not dare dismiss the case if there was no assurance that something would happen to them. So the question: who gave that assurance to them?” Was there such an assurance, and who might have given it, Prosecutor General Jorge Catalan?
