BAGUIO CITY, Nov. 13 (PIA) – – The city government, in partnership with the different department heads and the academe, is all set for the month- long celebration of X’Mas in Baguio which shall be ushered in by the annual Lantern Parade.
On December 1, Session Road will be closed to motorists for the opening program that will be coupled with Christmas concerts, chalk art and fireworks display, among others.
The day will be highlighted by the Lantern Parade of the Saint Louis University where high school and college students from all departments of the universities march through the Session Road down to Melvin Jones with their colorful and uniquely designed-lanterns.
Simultaneous with the parade will be the ceremonial lighting of the Christmas tree atop Session Road rotonda.
For private- led Christmas activities, Baguio Country Club is all set to open on December 6 its annual Christmas Village, which for this year will feature the theme of the animated movie “How You Train Your Dragon”. This tourist attraction during Christmas uses recyclable materials as decorations.
For other Christmas in Baguio preparations, cleaning and setting-up of parks and hotel decorations around Baguio is all set, as well as the hanging of Christmas lights and lanterns.
