Will Purisima receive US $6 M reward?

WILL PURISIMA RECEIVE US$ 6 M REWARD? There was one intriguing question that surfaced during the Thursday, January 29, 2015 episode of “Tambalang Batas at Somintac”, a program that airs Mondays to Fridays, at 6 a.m. at DZEC, 1062 kHz, touching on the reported participation of suspended Philippine National Police chief, Gen. Alan Purisima, in the Maguindanao assault by elite policemen Sunday, January 25, 2015, allegedly to arrest two suspected top terrorists.

The question was, why was Purisima allowed not only to participate in, but even to direct, that sensitive operation, when he was supposed to be a mere ordinary civilian at this point that he is serving his suspension? President Aquino in his nationwide television address Wednesday night seemed to have given an answer to this, when he said Purisima knew so much about the terrorists to be arrested, so he was giving advice as to what to do.

Fine, but, if it was a civilian who gave the information which led to the arrest, or, as is being bandied about now even by the sacked Special Action Force chief, Chief Superintendent Getulio Napenas, the killing of one of the two terrorists, Zulkifli bin Hir or Marwan as he is known internationally, is not the reward money of US $6 million to be given to that civilian informant who, in this case, now appears to be Purisima?

MAGUINDANAO KILLINGS, COLOSSAL BLUNDER OF AQUINO: Jess Trinos, a fellow Rotarian from the Rotary Club of Intramuros and a member of the board of the Pamantasan ng Lunsod ng Maynila (PLM) Alumni Association, wrote an interesting point on the Maguindanao killings of January 25, 2015. Let’s read his thoughts: “This is a colossal blunder of the Aquino government.

“The President owes it to the Filipino people to tell the whole story about his direct participation in the operation that killed 44 police officers, through suspended PNP chief Purisima. How could he have done this? He broke the entire command structure of government and of the PNP.

“This government is no better than a high school student council. Truly, this government is made up mostly of inept and incompetent people who should not be in government in the first place. Noynoy Aquino has never shown capacity for strong leadership as president, neither has he a vision for the country…

“ROXAS SHOULD RESIGN NOW”: Trinos further wrote: “He has never been presidential in the first place. Swerte lang at na- elect bilang pangulo (he was just lucky he was elected president). I did not vote for him…

“If it was indeed true that Secretary Mar Roxas was not consulted or at least informed by Aquino (of the Maguindanao operation), then this is his shining moment to quit the Aquino government and severe his relationship with Mr. Aquino. This is the right thing for him to do.

“Mas may tiwala pa si Mr. Aquino kay suspended PNP chief Purisima than to Sec. Roxas (Aquino trusted PNP chief Purisiman more than he trusted Sec. Roxas). This act by Mr. Aquino is an affront to the DILG Secretary and the current PNP leadership. Remember, Purisima is suspended as PNP Chief, thanks to the Ombudsman who has the spine and guts to do what the President should have done, but did not…”
